Natural Forgiveness - The Book

About My Book: Natural Forgiveness

I am very excited to share that I am writing a book on “Natural Forgiveness.”  Forgiveness is a state of grace, and grace is the natural state of our soul. Hence, forgiveness is a NATURAL expression of our soul. The book will be a compilation of personal stories amongst suggestions of practices, teachings, and commentaries drawn from various traditions and cultures.

“Natural Forgiveness”— it feels sweet.

That being said, the journey toward forgiveness is traditionally anything but sweet. I like to describe my experiences as an internal dirty street fight that drags on and on, very often for many years. And when dealing with ancestral pains, the battle can drag on for decades….even a lifetime.

Contribute Your Story!

I am currently reaching out to my community for personal stories of your forgiveness journey. I’m specifically interested in your “journey” as opposed to “a time that you forgave.” Forgiveness is indeed a journey, and as mentioned above, not an elegant one.

I’m looking for raw & honest stories. Perhaps your story has culminated in experiencing the freedom of forgiveness; perhaps you are still on your knees, praying, through tears, every day for forgiveness or the ability to forgive.

This is a no-holds-barred moment, an opportunity to tell your tale. Please include, and this is very important, what you did, or still do, to practice reaching the grace of forgiveness again, speaking honestly to your successes and failures on your journey. I would also like to share that this is not about enlisting anyone to your side. All names will be changed as those individuals have not consented to be a part of this book. You are welcome to use your own first name and the last initial should you choose.

I am looking for stories of the journey to forgiveness concerning any of life’s traumatic experiences, including forgiveness of yourSELF, should this be your biggest forgiveness challenge.

These stories can range from life’s most significant challenges, such as molestation to betrayal, to that kid who pulled your pants down in the playground when you were 11 years old (that happened to me!) There are no judgments on what injures our soul.

I also invite couples who have experienced infidelity, disregard/disrespect, or other relationship pains to individually write their story, allowing the reader to experience both perspectives. This also applies to friends, family members….anyone with whom you have open communication regarding a shared experience. Let me emphasize again that there is no expectation for the story to end with forgiveness. It’s about the journey.

My goal is not to air out grievances but to hold space for human connection, to share our struggles, failures, courageous acts, and most importantly. The prioritization of our soul healing.

If you are interested in contributing a story to my project, my editor and I will send you a document with writing prompts and pivotal questions to assist in drawing out your story. It is there for you to use as much or as little as you prefer. The stories selected will be based on impact and overall balance for the book. My goal is to share forgiveness journeys, demonstrating as many pains and traumas as possible, to serve as many struggling souls as possible.

Should your story be chosen, I will reach out to you and schedule an interview. I would like to hear more about your story to understand where it belongs in the book.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions that you may have.

In advance, I would like to thank you for your courage and vulnerability. I am grateful to you.

In light & with love,
Cher
